The term voice dialogue systems is particularly at home in the fields of artificial intelligence, automation and digital transformation. A voice dialogue system is software with which people can communicate by voice - very similar to a normal conversation. The best-known examples are voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant.
Such systems understand what the user says and can respond or perform tasks. For example, you can tell a voice dialogue system: "Set an alarm for 7 o'clock". The software recognises the task, processes it and confirms: "The alarm clock is set for 7 o'clock".
Voice dialogue systems simplify many processes, for example in customer service. Instead of having to wait in a long queue on the phone, a customer can simply say what they want - the system listens, recognises the request and offers help directly.
For companies, voice dialogue systems represent a great opportunity to automate processes and increase customer satisfaction. These systems are constantly being developed and are being used in more and more areas of life - from smart household appliances to digital assistants in cars.
