Despite President Trump's push for "America First" and a diplomatic turn inwards, the following infographic reflects the modern status quo of the US as an unofficial leader in world affairs. No other country has more Diplomatic representations abroad than the United States, with a total of 271 embassies, high commissions, permanent missions and other representations around the world.
There are very few countries with which the USA does not maintain diplomatic relations; Iran and North Korea are two prominent examples. The closest are France and China with 267 and 258 respectively.
