Stronger together - helpfulness in the Neflental
In Neflental, the world is enchanted. Today it shines in the wonderful season of Frostnacht. The trees are bare, but the hoar frost glistens on their branches like sugar. Snow falls softly. The snowflakes carry little memories. Full moonlight and the distant sound of bells float through the night. The sky paints everything in silver-white, midnight blue and crystal clear.
The cry for help in the Frostnacht forest
In the middle of this magical night, Rosa Periwinkle trudges through the snowy forest. She loves the glow of every flake. Suddenly she hears a soft cry. Rosa stops and listens. The sound comes from the Bernblütenhain, a place full of golden yellow flowers that smell of honey and summer rain even in the icy winter.
Rosa follows the sound without hesitation. She carefully pushes aside twigs covered in glistening hoar frost. There, among the flowers, sits little Flossian Mio, who has lost his way. His paws are cold and fear is written all over his face.
Finding solutions together
Rosa sits down next to Mio and speaks to him reassuringly. "What happened?" she asks quietly. Mio sniffles and tells her that he lost his way while collecting winter algae. He wanted to help his family, but now he needs help himself.
Instead of thinking long and hard, Rosa reaches for Mio's ice-cold hand. She tells him about a shortcut she knows. But the path is hard to find in the deep snow. So Rosa calls for the forest dwellers. Tilla Buchianer and Lenny Bergstein soon appear at her side. Tilla has warm blankets of leaves with her, which she wraps around Mio. Lenny holds up a lantern so that they can see the safe path in the silvery-white light.
Everyone helps where they can
Together they take most of the steps back into the valley. Tilla carries the blanket, Lenny lights the way. Rosa encourages them and holds Mio's hand. Mio's family are already waiting excitedly on the shore of the crystal lake. When they see him, they all run joyfully towards the group.
Mio is beaming - not just with joy, but also with relief. Thanks to Rosa's courage, Tillia's blanket and Lenny's light, the group has made it together. Everyone in Neflental now knows that a willingness to help makes you strong and unites different peoples.
What do we learn from this?
In Neflental, everyone helps because togetherness makes you stronger. Sometimes a task feels too big when you're alone. But if you ask your friends for help, you can do it together. It's not a bad thing to need help yourself. Those who help often encourage others to help too. This is how the bond between people becomes stronger and stronger. And those who help with their hearts make the Neflental a special place.
