With perseverance on the Drachenzahngebirge: a story from the Neflental valley
Today marks the start of the great glorious high in Neflental. The sun glitters like pure gold in the sky. The scent of summer is everywhere and lanterns dance silently in the warm evening breeze. On the banks of a clear river, the inhabitants sit together, colourfully dressed and full of joy. They are celebrating the most beautiful time of the year, but there is one thought that Rosa Immergrün cannot let go of.
The dream of the Dragon's Tooth Mountains
While emerald green and sapphire blue swirl in the air, pink periwinkle looks towards the horizon. The peaks of the Dragon's Tooth Mountains loom up there, mysterious and mighty. Every child in the entire Neflental valley knows the stories about this place: the Bergsteins live here, hidden in sparkling caves in the highest Dragon's Tooth. There is an observatory, a sauna, hot springs and even secret passages full of shimmering gemstones. Rosa Immergrün has always wanted to see this world with her own eyes.
But the path into the Dragon's Tooth Mountains is steep. The air becomes thin and the paths narrow. Many turn back at the foot of the mountain. But Rosa Periwinkle doesn't want to give up! With perseverance, she wants to make it to Glanzhoch to feel the power of the sun at the very top. "I can do it," she whispers and pulls her boots tighter.
The challenge at the peak
Rosa Periwinkle begins her ascent early in the morning. Golden rays of sunshine warm her back. The path winds its way through fern meadows and forests. Flowers glow coral red everywhere, birds sing and butterflies fly past. Soon, however, the ascent becomes more difficult as the stones become sharp and the moss slippery. The wind whistles around your ears and every step feels like a little adventure.
On the way, Rosa Periwinkle meets other hikers. Some have doubts and consider turning back. But Rosa Periwinkle laughs and shouts: "Together we can make it through the Dragon's Tooth Mountains! Let's not give up. Look, the summit is not far away."
The light of the gemstones in the Dragon's Tooth Mountains
Higher and higher you go, until suddenly light breaks out of a rock in colourful sparks. There are the secret tunnels of the Bergsteins! The gnomes sit near a fire, their skin glowing silver-grey in the golden light. They tell stories of times when the first gemstones were found in the mountain. Crystals sparkle in the depths like little stars. Everyone listens spellbound.
After a break, Rosa Immergrün tackles the last few metres with renewed vigour. The wind blows so strongly that her thoughts become clear. Every step upwards gives her even more hope. Finally, she and her friends reach the highest point in the Dragon's Tooth Mountains - Glanzhoch! The sky is particularly close here, and the rivers below sparkle with golden light. The effort was worth it.
Stay strong with perseverance
Rosa Immergrün looks back down into the valley. The path was difficult, but with patience and solidarity she has conquered the Dragon's Tooth Mountains. The stars now seem close enough to touch and the fire of the lanterns still dances in the twilight. The music of the glittering festival sounds all the way up the mountain.
Rosa Periwinkle feels pride and joy in her heart. With perseverance, anyone can reach the top - even the dragon's tooth. And sometimes, she realises, the journey is the greatest adventure of all.
