I've been writing articles and submitting them to various article directories for about a year now. When I first started, I felt very fresh and had a lot to write about. After a few months, however, I got what I call writer's block. I could no longer think of anything to write about. In this article, I give advice on what to do in such a case, advice that will hopefully help you to continue writing high-quality and original articles.
My name is Steve Hill and I work as a speech coach. I stuttered when I was four years old and it affected my life for the next eighteen years. I managed to overcome this speech impediment and I now help other people to speak fluently in my job. I feel that I know quite a lot about this subject and I found it easy and fun to write about all aspects of stammering.
After a while, I couldn't think of anything new to write about stuttering that would be of use to people and I made the mistake of rewriting some of the articles with different words. I must admit that I didn't realise this was against the rules, but now I know that each article must have original content, which I accept and understand.
I then wrote about some experiences from my own life, such as how I dealt with my now ex-girlfriend leaving me, and even about my dog! A number of people read these articles and sent me some very nice emails telling me how much they enjoyed them.
One morning I woke up with very good intentions, I was going to write three or four new articles. I switched on the computer and just sat there. Come on, write something, I tried to tell myself. The only problem was that I couldn't think of anything to write about. I decided to go back to bed. I seem to be able to think more clearly from bed, a bit strange, I know.
I decided to write not only about my own life and experiences, but also about my family and friends. Other areas I could write about would be:
How to promote a website
Web design
Self-confidence
Travelling
World events
Sport
Movement
Lose weight
Stress management
Anger management
Economy
These are all areas that I have a lot of interest in, and although they are not my main business, the articles should be of interest to people. Most of the topics I have listed are things that I or people I know have had experience with. For example, many people who stutter, including myself, have had issues with their confidence in the past.
Weight loss is a subject that is very close to my heart as I have had a lot of problems controlling my own weight. I also run my own business, so I had to learn a lot about how to do that.
I also love playing and watching sport. That's why I've also focussed on this area and now write articles about snooker and football.
To inspire me and help me write my articles, I read a lot of books and newspapers, and I also enjoy watching the news and current affairs programmes on TV.
I hope this article has helped you, and you are welcome to read and reprint other articles of mine.
