Industry 4.0: Part 50: 4.0 for small companies too

4.9
(101)

Industry 4.0 is bringing the digital world into every company, but before new technologies are introduced, it should first be checked whether old craftsmanship also needs new and innovative production methods. Individuals who have their own company and rely on the best manual labour will not suddenly rely on new production methods and large machines just because the big companies of this world are doing so.

The production quantities are simply too small here and a machine-made product would find fewer buyers than genuine manual labour. Small companies also do not have the financial resources required to switch to expensive and new production methods. It is therefore particularly important to weigh up the possibilities and the potential profit for the company, as these companies do not have the necessary reserves, which means that a wrong decision can quickly lead to ruin.
