Understanding the big picture

I'm assuming that you are now starting to realise the bigger picture of article marketing. Whether you're trying to improve your search engine rankings by submitting to multiple directories or you're trying to increase your direct traffic, article marketing is powerful. Even if you're not focusing on search engine rankings, you should generally find that your websites become more popular through article marketing. You'll naturally get more backlinks and visitors, and your search engine rankings will generally increase, even if you don't focus on it in particular.

One of the great benefits of article marketing, especially if you're building a list, is that subscribers who come to you after reading one of your articles will typically buy more than subscribers who come to you from other sources. If someone signs up for your list after reading one or more of your articles, they are usually already starting to trust you and may be more likely to buy from you than someone who has to read several emails from you and perhaps communicate online before they buy. Writing articles simply gives you a unique opportunity to attract subscribers to your list who already have a qualified interest in you and trust you.

Stay patient when everything comes together

When you first start article marketing, things will probably move slowly for you. One of the things that happens with article marketing is an exponential effect. If you've only written 3 articles, you won't have a flood of visitors. However, if you write and submit a few articles every day for several weeks or months, you will see an incredible effect and it will be worth it for you.

Remember that you will maintain the impact of the articles you write for as long as they are online and published. So if you have 10 or 100 articles online, you will have 10 or 100 times the traffic you received after the first article. It's easy to get discouraged when you've only written a few articles and your earnings don't match the time you invest in writing and submitting articles.

I would even go so far as to say that if you only write a few articles and then give up, you might as well not write or submit any articles at all. Article marketing is extremely effective, but it's most effective when it has a cumulative effect, and that cumulative effect takes time and multiple articles and submissions.
