Part 01: Introduction
It is actually a frightening figure that was recently published. Believe it or not, 75 per cent of all teams are inefficient and do not work in a way that promises success. However, as the business world has changed dramatically compared to the past and business communication has shifted more and more to the "virtual" office, whose most important tools have become video conferencing, Skype use and chats, it is all the more important for today's managers to be successfully trained in so-called Management 2.0.
One of the main tasks of managers in social media & management is to lead the way as a role model and motivator who keeps a cool head even under deadline pressure and adverse technical circumstances. Unfortunately, executives and management are still too often separated in the business world, but social media and management are becoming increasingly important!
Part 02: Management for executives as the key to success!
In order to be able to optimise future-oriented Management 2.0, technology alone is no longer sufficient. Instead, a manager must be in place who is familiar with it, knows how to use it and can interact with employees in the right way.
The key to success here is the right management for managers in virtual teams. When executives and management are fully familiar with the technical conditions and also lead the way as a competent supervisor in social media and management for employees, the motivation of the team increases noticeably.
Part 03: Yesterday's thinking must be discarded!
It is immensely important to shed the "thinking of yesterday" and be open to treading new paths. Management for managers has become an important foundation in the new media, as a manager today is not just a supervisor, but rather a coach for the entire team.
In Management 2.0, the soft skills of managers are in demand, i.e. the ability to be trained in social media and management at the same time. Unfortunately, many companies have not yet realised this and therefore still promote the classic department manager who is trained in key figures, etc.
However, the modern manager of today is not yet a common feature of executive management.
Part 04: Social skills must be versatile in Management 2.0!
The demands placed on managers in modern companies have shifted, meaning that managers now have to have a wide range of social skills. They have to be leaders and managers in one person, and social media and management are also part of this.
In order to be able to modernise a company, management for executives in this area is therefore also part of it. This is not a problem, because the ability to be a leader and manager at the same time can be taught. Management 2.0 - that means combining social media & management and thus being a trustworthy supervisor for the team.
If supervisors act as executives & management at the same time, they can be the right mix of mediator and representative of the company's interests and are not just perceived as the "unloved" supervisor, which noticeably increases the mood in the team and the associated job satisfaction! However, statistics clearly show that around two thirds of all supervisors are still not sufficiently trained in Management 2.0 and therefore either represent executives OR management, but are not executives & management.
However, this inefficiency can be remedied very effectively with targeted management for managers, which will ultimately have a noticeable impact on the company's success!
